… The Open-TBI operations is managed by the TRC and is itself a joint venture project with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippine Export Processing Zone Authority (PEZA), the Advanced Science and Technology Institute (ASTI) and the University of the Philippines (UP).
The Mabalacat TechnoCenter, on the other hand, is one of several industrial estates owned and managed by TRC in Central Luzon. Following the initial success of the TBI- TechnoCenter Business Matching in Mabalacat, Cunanan said it is only a matter of time before the same opportunity is extended to its TCs in other parts of Pampanga, Bataan, Tarlac, and Zambales.
The TRC is a government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) under the administrative supervision of the DOST. Its head office is located at the Jacinta Building 2, Guadalupe Nuevo, EDSA, Makati City. Formerly known as the TLRC (Technology and Livelihood Resource Center), the agency is mandated to transform the country’s technology assets into business success stories that redound to better life and livelihood for Filipinos.
